About the Teachers

Ms. Lillmars grew up in west Michigan and attended Fruitport High School. She played basketball, volleyball, and softball until she graduated in 2001.

Always wanting to be a teacher, Ms. Lillmars attended Central Michigan University (Go Chips!) to obtain her bachelor's degree. She has since finished her Master's degree at Grand Valley State University (Go Lakers)!

In her free time, Ms. Lillmars spends her time with her little girl and enjoys sports of all kinds and is a dedicated Detroit Tigers fan (even with their struggling bullpen).

Hello!
Welcome to 6th grade!  I am so excited you have visited our team page!

I am Brianne Schuiteman, and I teach English on our team, along with Reading and Social Studies to my homeroom students.  I have a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education & English, and master's degree in Educational Leadership from Grand Valley State University.  Go Lakers!

I love coming to work everyday means that I get to spend time with children who are exploring their way to being teens!!  It is so fun to empower them with knowledge, skills, and tools that will shape their future, all while having fun, laughing, and playing at times.  Every student has something awesome to offer others, and it is fun to see how we all fit together!

On a personal note, I have a husband, Matt, who teaches high school Social Studies.  Together we have two young sons.  We love to spend time together with family and friends & have fun reading, playing, and boating.  We also spend plenty of time watching football and baseball, and love to cheer on the Detroit Lions, Michigan State Spartans, and Detroit Tigers!!

I look forward to a fantastic year!  Please don't ever hesitate to contact me via school phone or email if you ever have any questions!!

Go Hawkeyes!!

Not a native of West Michigan, Ardith Young attended Breckenridge High School, where she participated in many extra-curricular activities, including playing the trumpet in the HS band.  After graduation, she attended Central Michigan University to study elementary education.  This is where she met, and married, her husband, Jim, also a teacher at HMS.

After working as a secretary throughout college, and for a year following graduation, Mrs. Young landed her first teaching job in Middleville, teaching 6th grade math.  After a few years, Mrs. Young was hired into Hamilton Community Schools.  At Hamilton, Mrs. Young has taught 6th grade at Blue Star Elementary, and 6th, 7th, and 8th grade at the middle school.  Her most recent assignment included teaching American Studies in 8th grade.

Mrs. Young has two sons.  Ethan lives in Kalamazoo and Bryant works as a phlebotomist.  She also has three cats, Socks, Charlie, and Poopsie (yes, that's her name).  In her spare time, her favorite things to do include spending time with her family, traveling and reading.  Her favorite animal is a giraffe and her favorite food is chocolate.
