Science- today the kids finished plotting volcano locations (using their latitude and longitude). They began plate tectonic stations and will finish these tomorrow.
Tomorrow, the students will also be taking a data analysis assessment. This is to use as baseline data to see where the students are with using graphs and data lists to answer a question. This will be the first time we have done an assessment like this, so there are no expectations at this point :).
Social Studies- the students watched CNN10 and read through some cards with different situations described. Their task was to decide if there was a push or a pull factor present, along with identifying what the factor was. No homework!

Math: We spent our time this morning working on an English assessment. However, students did have homework from yesterday that is due tomorrow (we've spent several in-class days on them already so there shouldn't be much left)! Checklist of due assignments for Thursday:
1. Geometry project that was assigned November 17!
2. Each of the three geometry practice sheets posted (2 from Monday and 1 from Tuesday). The Tuesday one is challenging and each child may struggle differently with this one.

Today we did a final rating on our argument writing by standard, which helped us also review the standards. Students completed a question card to ask any final questions they had on the writing -- we addressed these individually. Finally, we went through a preview of the assessment that we will start tomorrow. HW - BRING HEADPHONES TOMORROW IF YOU CAN!!
Social Studies -
Today we discussed the Migration Data from yesterday and shared conclusions. Then, we watched a 60 Minutes video clip on the island of American Samoa. We will discuss push/pull factors tomorrow!
