SS Mrs. Young

Today we started talking about the similarities between timelines and number lines.  You need 10 life facts about yourself, month, day and year if possible.  Tomorrow we will construct our timelines.  No HW tonight unless you have not yet gathered your 10 facts.  A few kiddos need to finish their coat of arms from class.

Math Mrs. Young

Today we really started working our brains.  Students have some review work with add, subtract, multiply and divide (2 sides).  If they didn't finish in class, they need to complete it for tomorrow.  Show all work.  No calculators!

Today we went to library for book checkout & discussed the 40 book challenge.  We set up our recording sheets for the year for the challenge.
Students will not get a lot of English homework this school year, but they should be READING AT HOME most nights of the week!!!  Please help them establish a time to read if they need a "nudge" to read on their own!!
No Homework!

Social Studies -
We discussed the current events of the natural disasters affecting parts of the US (fires out west & hurricanes down south).  Then, we talked about timelines - how to use them, what they are for.  Students will be creating a personal timeline with 10 events.
HW - Brainstorm events & get help with dates of those events if needed from home.

Welcome everyone!
We are getting back into the swing of things-- including filling out the blog :).

Today in Science, we started our murder mystery to help us practice being scientists. Students visited the crime scene and collected evidence that we will discuss further tomorrow.
